In A State Of Confusion

Posted in Guest Blog Posts

I just don’t get it! This is a great country, comprised of fabulous, wonderfully talented magnificent people with abilities that are beyond-the-pale… So,I don’t understand why so many obvious answers, to real hard problems, aren’t being implemented. Why is it that the American people, nearly unanimously, want single-payer health care…but, Congress ain’t obligin’!!?? Hmmmm!!  In fact, I believe that dear senator Bernie Sanders, is perhaps the only one screaming for equality with regards to the right of the people to be healthy!! Shameful, just shameful.
You know what? Without campaign finance reform and , without the elimination of lobbyists that represent  gigunda businesses (not people), I believe that this country will no longer be able to function “for the people and by the people” ~~ corporations will be the deciders!!.  And we will sure-as-shootin’ become an oligarchy, forsooth!!
No person, or business or lobbyist should be allowed to contribute to an election campaign above a decided (small)amount. This would certainly eliminate the influence-peddling…so that these folks in power would use their skills (not their wills) when making crucial decisions for ALL of the fine citizens that they represent. Once the money is taken out of the picture, and that burden of influence has ended,  then  equality and justice for all, REALLY will mean something.
Why should an insurance company be the final arbiter on who will be covered, and with what treatment, and with which doctor, and when, and yada yada!?? The most effective, least traumatic, least costly treatment for my fibroid ~~ was DENIED!!!I am here to tell ya, that with campaign finance reform, those insurance companies would have NO say in the decision of DENIAL, because they would loose their power of influence and a NEW health care system would put the power back in the hands of the doctors. Simple as that.
Why is it,that there are 1 in 4 people, in this great country of ours, that has a PREVENTABLE chronic disease? Well…insurance companies will not cover well care or prevention care or the implementation of educational information that could be parceled out for all.You see, insurance companies are in  business to make a profit, to make money and thus, must DENY care!! And… Primary care doctors, you know GP’s, are a dying breed…but we need them desperately if we are going to treat the whole body, not just pieces, and keep “it” fit-as-a-fiddle.
The influence of money and business and its effect on  the House Of Representatives, and the decisions that are being made for the greater good, must really be examined. This country is not being served properly when  money is always dangled and used as a powerful pressure pusher in law-making. It demoralizes the very people that make this country progressive and  GREAT!! Campaign finance reform, would eliminate business from clutching the throats of congress at every turn. And, just perhaps, a simple and quite obvious health hazard and problem, like BPA, would be swiftly corrected and BANNED! It’s so darn disheartening that Monsanto is allowed to recreate, through gene manipulation, our bountiful and delicious produce that Mother Nature provides quite nicely.Darn, if they were allowed to donate  only a capped sum (like everyone else) then this crap would have been tended to and never have been allowed to get this far!  How is it, that people’s HEALTH does not  matter a pettooty, as long as the business is making money? Hmmmm…is it perhaps corrupt INFLUENCE.
Campaign finance reform has to occur BEFORE any of these elected officials would be willing to take off their money-colored glasses, and vote with their HEARTS!!  To vote as if each and every decision that they made, would directly effect someone that they LOVE. Not until money, and it’s devil-like influence, is erased from the equation when we choose and elect representative officials, will any TRUE reform (in education, health, finance etc) ever ever ever take place. Alas,  money’s influence is just too dog-gone fricken-fracken tempting for mere mortals like us!!!!!
