The Night Before F U S

Posted in Guest Blog Posts

‘Twas the night before FUS, when all thro’ our house,
I, computer searching and a clickin’ my mouse;
My clothes were laid out with the utmost of care,
In hopes that the A.M soon would be here;
My dear husband was nestled all snug in our bed,
While visions of “what if’s?”, danced in my head,
And, me, mamma in her nite-shirt from Gap,
We’d just settled our brains for a night’s wishful nap.
When up at dawn I arose with no chatter,
I sprang from the bed, I’m up..the next “batter”
Away to the window I flew like a flash,
Tore open the shutters, and threw up the sash.
It’s time to get ready for my treatment, you know,
By mid-day, I’ll feel great, and be back in the “show”;
As we drive like a wild hurricane-fly,
I will meet for the procedure at the MRI.
So up to the doors, we both really flew,
With hopes and wants, of what we both knew:
And then in a twinkling, I heard the machine
The dancing and pawing of each little beam!
As I drew in my head, and was happy ‘n proud,
Treatment began; Dr. LeBlang was bound:
She was dress’d in her gear, from her head to her foot,
Her clothes so pristine, with nary a soot;
A bundle of rays were flung “rat-a-tat”!
And I looked with joy, not turnin’ back:
My eyes – how they twinkled! my dimples how merry,
My cheeks were like roses, my nose like a cherry;
My droll little mouth was drawn up like a bow,
And so audible my gleeee, oh boy! and how!
The stump of a fibroid was nabbed at it’s teeth,
And the “smoke” it encircled a head like a wreath.
I, once had a broad face, and a little round belly
That would shake like a big bowl o’ jelly,
My fibroid was chubby and plump, like an “elf”
And I laugh’d when i saw; I was again my ol’ self!
A wink of Doc Le Blang’s eye, and a twist of her head
Soon gave me to know I had nothing to dread.
She spoke a kind word, and went straight to her work,
And FUS’d that darn fibroid with a clean-steady-jerk,
And laying her fingers aside with painless blows
And giving a nod, that fibroid was toast!
She sprang to her feet; to her team a big whistle,
And up they all flew, like the down of a thistle.
And I heard Doc explain, “fibroid’s not in sight”…
Happy I had FUS, and for all, it is so so right!

Health and Happiness to all…and Peace ;-)
