A new study in the American Journal of Obstetrics & Gynecology points to the positive benefits of uterine fibroid embolization – a minimally invasive treatment option highlighted frequently on the Fibroid Relief website and in Facebook discussions among patients.

The study, comprised of 150 women in their 40′s who had had a hysterectomy and the other half who had secured an embolization, revealed some interesting findings.  After a five year period, all women in the study experienced no difference in their physical or mental quality of life.  More than 4 out of 5 women in both groups were very satisfied with the treatment they had received.
